What is Ayurveda?

A brief introduction to Yoga’s Sister Science

Have you heard of Ayurveda?

It’s often referred to as Yoga’s Sister Science.

Essentially Ayurveda is a practical wellness tool for holistic living that was never separate from Yoga like it is now.

Ayurveda and Yoga are prescribed as a total system for living in alignment with the cycles of nature, tuning in to the innate intelligence of the body, managing the over activeness of the mind and treating any disharmony holistically.

This traditional system of herbal medicines, breathing exercises, mantra chanting, fire ceremony, diet plans and various body treatments such as herbal oil massages and steams draw from ancient wisdom that is thousands of years old.

The Ayurvedic system looks at each individual as a whole entity rather than just treating symptoms as is common in Western medicine.

Today I’d like to share with you an excellent introduction that I have found from an inspired Yogini, please press play to watch the 11 minute video and find out more about this hidden gem for living a richer life with more vitality.
